I really, really miss maths. My Dad sent my this blog entry about the Frog in Boiling Water metaphor/hypothesis. You should all go read it, you can learn a little maths and impress your friends by debunking the myth next time some fool tries to bring it up. Win!

Speaking of Internet usage of single words in annoying ways, I used 'fail' today in an email and then thought, "This would be less faily if I could just look at a picture of Joe right now," and then wished I had a macro of his face that said, "Joe's face. Your fail is invalid." And then I wanted to crawl under the desk and die because that's really embarassing. Everything about it is really embarassing. Every action and every livejournal community and every conversation and tv show and experience that contributed to that one ridiculous thought is utterly. embarassing. Then I carried on doing my report.

I can't write journal entries right now, I have WAC to do and then bed to go to. But I do miss you all very much. I look forward to starting journal writing again with vigour. And rigour.

Not that being a werewolf is, or ever was, a curse. It's actually a pretty good time, especially as a cub. But logic has no place in a ten-year-old's daydreams. His other favorite daydream at that time featured himself as a werewolf crimefighter, solving mysteries and killing bad guys three nights a month, between midnight and seven am. Whatever, he was ten.

The point is, the mating-for-life thing doesn't come as a surprise, like, in theory. The fact that he's somehow managed to mate himself to Brendon, without ever even so much as a kiss - that part is a surprise.

They met Brendon at the playground and Ryan hadn't wanted to be friends but Spencer liked Brendon's songs about frogs so that pretty much sealed the deal.
Bea's comment: Aww, this one is adorable...About growing up and growing apart and then re-connecting again. :)

It goes on for a week. Spencer spend most of lunch talking about his awesome new friends and his awesome classes or talking to said awesome friends and Brendon just sits there like a total loser. They still walk home together but Brendon's starting to feel like he's losing his best friend.

Jon and Spencer put their collective feet down, and force Brendon and Ryan to go on a roadtrip with no end until they're friends again. Here's one day.)

When Ryan looked at him, Brendon laughed, short and sharp. Ryan stared at him, and the smile lingered around Brendon's mouth. He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel and Ryan knew that he was singing in his head. He wished he could tell Brendon to shut up when he did that, too, but Ryan hadn't lived in Brendon's head for a long time.

Ryan chose to continue to flipping stations instead of asking Jon what was wrong, only stopping to wait out a commercial. He nearly changed it while the DJ was talking over the song, but Jon was humming along, so he left it alone. Whatever was eating Jon must have eased up because half way through the song– Billy Joel's For the Longest Time– he was full-out singing along.

as always, i have things that i keep meaning to post about:

- glee (and how happy it makes me despite being such a ridiculous show) -- even my dad loves it, and he hates musicals! his favourite character is rachel. both my parents love kurt! my mum loves terri...
- the many demented YA books i've read this year, all of them slightly dumb, 90% of them actually awesome.
- NEW MOON WAS REALLY ENJOYABLE SO WHATEVER. HATERS CAN HATE, I FELT PERFECTLY CONTENT AS JACOB SIZZLED ONSCREEN. i stood with a cardboard cutout of rpattz as fitz took our photo. it was really embarrassing. that's twice now that i've been so close to the edward cutout...
- adam lambert's album has been on nonstop rotation since it came out.
- this week has felt exhaustingly long. so happy it's friday.
- this post is all over the place. i guess i am just trying to get into the swing of posting semi-regularly again. it's a difficult task.

summer is coming. it's nice because it has been so cold. how quickly we forget the 41 degree heat. i am looking forward to christmas because i love it, even though i feel like everyone on earth is a giant grinch about christmas. don't dare tell someone you love it, they'll just go into a giant rant about how stressful it is. no one will ever beat the love for tinsel out of me. every year here a santa sits on top of a fire truck and drives around the streets of my town throwing out bags of lollies to the kids.

everything i've read lately has been about vampires or hot badass russian vampire hunters or fallen angels. pretty amazing literary experiences.

i also read the kite runner and a thousand splendid suns, though they were more horrifying and depressing than trashy and enjoyable.

OH YEAH I SOLD MY CAMERA TO FITZ LIKE A MONTH AGO AND BOUGHT A NEW ONE. it's my new favourite thing, even though i've been kind of pathetic about taking photos.
