comments, thoughts? like maybe this is beating a dead horse but i'm always super interested in what you guys have to say (also i have a paper i need to write but i don't want to). do you think gabe/cobra starship is misogynistic?

my official stance: relax people. an artist is only as good as his final product, i.e., the music. and this video simply wasn't that great. screaming rape at the screen isn't doing anyone favors. all the ridiculous symbolism aside (that was very poorly contrived from a few people who saw what they wanted to see), this video isn't inspiring anyone to go out and rape/be raped. and yeah i know it's not that simple but if you're gonna jump down gabe's throat for this then you might as well attack every single artist with misogynistic lyrics.

remember tipper gore? trying to ban rap and heavy metal music because of their lyrics? YEAH I REMEMBER THAT TOO. because of her we have the 'parental advisory' sticker on the front of cds with questionable content. hot mess has that sticker. i absolutely do not agree with that fucking sticker on ANY cd because music again is all about the final product. it's not entirely about the lyrics. and we have a first amendment right to say whatever the fuck we want. you don't like it, you don't have to listen to it. going after cobra starship for this video is one of the most pointless things you can do and i'm sure almost everyone here agrees that censorship is a stupid idea. well what do you think the outcome of this would be. that's right. censorship.

i like this band too much (and music in general) to let that kind of thing happen. but that's just my stance. go!

Bea's comment: This is definitely one of my favorite post-split fics ever; it's all about Spencer and Ryan's friendship and it hurts at first but then it gets fixed and it's all wonderful, and the little moments are what makes this fic awesome, like the finger puppets (Ryan! You're my favorite right there!), Spencer and Brendon's evolving relationship, I even liked Alex Greenwald, he was hilarious! My heart hurt for Spencer at first because I really do know how he feels, sort of, but at the end of the fic I had a big smile on my face. ^_____________^

Bea's comment: This fic is epic and wonderful, I got really into it once I started reading it and couldn't stop until the ending; Kirk and Spock's relationship evolved in a believable pace, and their characterization was spot-on. I also loved Mccoy, he was such a good friend while at the same time bitching about Kirk's accident proneness. It had humor, action, h/c, a little angst, kidfic and it was just wonderful. And I laughed out loud in a lot of the scenes, mostly the ones where the crew started calling Kirk "Spock's wife" :D And I loved how Kirk and Spock were oblivious to their own feelings and each other's while everyone else knew already. XD It's really, really, really good.
